Our Staff

Pattison Professional Counseling and Mediation Center is a group of experienced licensed mental-health professionals providing quality services. Our clinicians are certified and state licensed in their respective fields. All have graduate degrees and advanced clinical training.

Our group consists of psychologists, social workers, parent coordinators and mental health counselors who are here to provide caring, competent and confidential assistance.  We offer a sliding fee scale for those who are uninsured or underinsured and for all court-ordered programs.

Dr. Nina Gawlik is a Licensed Psychologist at Pattison Professional Counseling and Mediation Center specializing in:

Dr. Gawlik received a Doctorate in Psychology from the Miami Institute of Psychology of the Caribbean Center for Advanced Studies and is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist in the state of Florida.

As a Licensed Clinical Psychologist, Dr. Nina J. Gawlik provides a variety of services and offers comprehensive and individualized evaluation and treatment services for children (from 3 years of age), adolescents, and adults. Psychological, Psycho-Educational, and Forensic Evaluations are provided to assess personality and emotional functioning, ADHD, intellectual ability and achievement level, surgery clearance, abuse issues, memory impairment, children with behavioral issues, parenting or custody planning, and civil litigation.

Dr. Gawlik also provides individual, marriage and family psychotherapy for children, adolescents and adults for a variety of issues (e.g. depression, stress, grief, etc.). Treatment is tailored to meet individualized needs in a warm, friendly, and safe environment. Her therapeutic approach is eclectic and includes Behavior Modification and Cognitive-Behavioral, Interpersonal, and Humanistic treatment modalities. Play therapy is provided for young children to give a safe and effective means of expressing their feelings and experiences in order to work through conflicts. As part of treating children, Dr. Gawlik conducts parenting sessions in order to provide the parents with support and strategies to utilize in the home or school environments.

Tommy has a Masters of Science in Counseling from Troy University and is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and National Certified Counselor.  He served as an Air Force Career Counselor and is U.S. Air Force Retired. Tommy teaches as an Adjunct Professor at Northwest Florida State College.

Linda holds a Masters Degree from the University of West Florida. She is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of Florida and a Certified Addiction Professional for 25 years. Linda was the Outstanding Mental Health Counselor of the Year in Okaloosa County in 1992. She has significant training in Play Therapy and with Family Counseling. Linda is a retired School Psychologist from the Okaloosa County School District.

Linda enjoys working with children, families and marriages. She enjoys traveling to the mountains, gem mining, and hiking/kayaking.

She believes that by letting go of past hurts and/or addictions, life will become more positive and meaningful.

Susan enjoys traveling, hiking in the mountains and exploring different cultures. Also, creating a healthy lifestyle both nutritionally and physically are important to her.

Bev has a Master's Degree in Counseling Psychology from the University of West Florida and is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of Florida. She holds many certifications, including: Solution Focused Brief Therapy, Crisis Intervention Training, Crisis Prevention, Qualified Supervisor for Registered Interns, and Forensic Evaluator.

Bev enjoys collecting antiques and treasure hunting for collectibles; needlework; and movies from the 30's, 40's and 50's.

Lisa, a military brat, graduated with her Masters in Social Work from Florida State University and continues to facilitate the next generation of social workers by instructing and providing licensing supervision.

As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker for more than 22 years, Lisa focuses on strength-based services with the ultimate goal of providing each and every individual with the assistance they seek to meet their goals. Lisa accomplishes this by implementing multiple therapeutic interventions such as ScreamFree Parenting, cognitive behavioral therapy, choice therapy, prolonged exposure (PE), stress reduction, rational emotive therapy, supportive counseling, case management, trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy, cognitive-behavioral conjoint therapy and cognitive processing therapy.

Prior to obtaining her Masters Degree, Shevon had graduated with a BA in Psychology from the University of Northern Colorado and was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant in the United States Air Force. She retired from the Special Operations Command at Hurlburt Field in Florida and transitioned to the Department of Corrections where she worked as a Correctional Probation Senior Officer.

Rich has a Masters of Science in Counseling and Psychology from Troy University and has a Bachelors of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of Florida.

Rich has experience as an Air Force mediator and instructor. He is a retired Air Force officer with over 24 years of active military experience, having begun his career as a B-52G Navigator. After retirement, Rich served an additional eight years as a Government Civil Service employee. He enjoys reading, philatelics, and cooking.

Vance is a Masters of Science Candidate in Counseling and Psychology from Troy University and has a Bachelors of Science in Psychology from Campbell University in North Carolina.

Vance is an experienced counselor and instructor and has a working knowledge of the Spanish language. He retired from the U.S. Army after 20+ years with the U.S. Army Special Forces (Green Berets). Vance has first-hand experience with diverse and multi-cultural populations. He has worked as an Equal Opportunity Adviser and Facilitator for special interest groups in North Carolina. Prior to embarking on a career in counseling, Vance worked as an intelligence / security contractor with the Defense Threat Reduction Agency.

Vance enjoys spending time with family and friends, hiking with his dog (Possum), fishing, reading good books, music and life in general.
