The Rev. Clelia P. Garrity, LCSW
licensed clinical social worker
Clelia sees clients 16 years of age and older and provides individual, group, and family counseling in our Fort Walton Beach Office. She also offers telehealth services.
Clelia has a master’s degree in social work and was ordained to the Sacred Order of Deacons on April 10, 2010, in the Episcopal Diocese of Nevada. Clelia is also licensed as both a clinical social worker and a hospice chaplain. In the late 1970s Clelia was one of the founders of the hospice program in America. During the 1990s, Clelia worked with projects throughout the United States developing social service and medical treatment programs for people living with HIV/AIDS, and while in Nevada she established the Nye County Child Advocacy Center, a program for children who have been sexually abused or severely traumatized.
Clelia has worked with the Episcopal Church in Haiti for the past 20 years, assisting in the delivery of healthcare to men, women and children who live in rural areas. She is currently the Coordinator of the Best Practices for Medical Missions to Haiti initiative, an outreach targeting Episcopal medical mission teams that are currently working in Haiti. She is also working in a remote area of Central Zambia to establish a long-distance health care initiative. Clelia is a member of the Episcopal Diocese of the Central Gulf Coast’s Commission on Ministry and the diocesan Commission on World Mission. She is also a board member of United Way Emerald Coast and a volunteer chaplain at Ft. Walton Beach Medical Center.
